Ordering and Setting Up iPods
Request to engrave the iPod with the School Division name and a number sequence. Roanoke City engraved the iPod with the asset identification number from their assest management system.

In an effort to manage school accounts, our school divisions created an individual email account for each laptop used to manage the carts. Individual iTunes accounts were created for each laptop managing the iPod carts.

Managing in a School
Pit Sheet - Created by an ITRT to help manage iPods in the elementary schools. Teachers ask students to place their iPod in the "iPit" to ensure hands and eyes are on the teacher.iPod Expectation Sheet - This sheet is posted on iPod carts to remind teachers and students of the expected use. It also reminds the teacher to check the equipment before returning to the media specialist.
iOS Updates on Multiple iPods
We have struggled with this process throughout the year. In meeting with Apple, they provided a work around that was also highlighted on a site managed by the Canby School district who appears to be a leader among iPod implementation. We have developed our own handout as well. Our hope is that Apple will develop support within iTunes or another interface to address this issue.
